Sarah and Johns travels 2008 travel blog

Hi all.

Well since the last entry we've been to the Irl vs All Blacks game in Wellington. Although it was probably the wetest coldest experience ever it was lots of fun!

We were in an Irish bar first listening to lots of irish tunes and having some craic with Jade McKean and Susan Beggs who we met up with there. Then we set off for the match and just as we arrived at the stadium it started bucketing down the coldest rain ever!!

After the game we dried off in the hostel and tehn went off for an Indian and after that ended up drinking in the same bar as the Irish rugby team as McKean knows Brian Young one of the subs for the team.

On Monday we took the Ferry form Wellington , which was really scenic and headed for Abel Tasman the next take. At Abel Tasman we did a 4 hour hike and were picked up by the areas water taxi (while on board some of the boats roof fell off and smacked me on the head, apparently a screw had come loose!) I was fine and John loves the story it provides him with great entertainment.

Next we moved on to Punakaiki to see the pancake rocks and blow holes.

At the moment we are at Franz Josef Glaciers waiting for the weather update to see if our heli hike will go ahead, if it doesnt we'l just tbe doing the half day hike instead......all i can say is yikes!!!

We'l be sure to update the oics so you can see me struggling my way up the ice caps.

Hope you are all well.

Daddy you'd love NZ the scenery is amazing i'll upload some pics so you can see. Its real Lord of The Rings territory!
