There was much rejoicing with pastries for breakfast in honour of Derick’s birthday. The celebrations continued at lunch on the terrace over the bay and we had birthday cake for afternoon tea. Murray and Sue took us out for dinner to a Restaurant, Sante Croche. It was nice but M&S said not as good as a previous meal there). Derick went to the fire station (as it was next to where we parked the car, cant take cars into the old town). When I said I was a fireman in Australia they were very keen to show mw around. They have 6 guys on shift. About 6 fire trucks. Their new pump is very modern with a computer screen on the pump panel. There 2-4 looked pretty good to really big tyres with tread almost like tractor tyres. They also have a small pump for the narrow streets in the old town and a fast attack like a light tanker. They have a control room with cameras so they can see over their area. They can also zoom in to areas.
