We left Michigan on June 5th and went down to St Louis, for a few days so I could fly to Texas and attend our oldest grandson's high school graduation. And visit with our son in law that is home from Iraq for a short leave before returning on the 14th.
Currently. we are in Herrin Illinois until the 21st. We are here to meet up with around 15 other Newmar Coach owners, to caravan into the Newmar international rally in near by Du Quoin Illinois. There will be something over 500 Newmar Coaches attending the International, and we anticipate a good time. The Park we are staying in is a beautiful rustic spot that is typical of southern Illinois, very green' fire flies every night and generally a lot of bugs!
The weather is HOT, and the humidity is out of control. A couple of days ago it was 96 degrees with 94% humidity. Friends from Florida arrived this week and we have spent a lot of time running around with them. Mary Ann and I celebrated our 27th anniversary on the 13th, wow how time flies.
We took one day and drove down along the Mississippi, to see it at flood stage, water was coming over the road in spots and this was a few days before the flooding started. Since we have lived on the Colorado for so many years we tend to forget what a big river looks like
