Kia ora koutou e te whanau, we all arrived in Spittal this evening,a little town surrounded by mountains. Today in our Spittal audience were three people from home who came to have a chat before the show, one became very teary eyed after just a few minutes as she told us that she had been living in Austria for 25 years, another who has been in Spittal for 18 months and looking forward to going home in 6 months was glad to be talking with fellow Kiwis about kiwi sports ,or just anything to do with home to the amazement of our young performers who found out that he was from Hamilton! it just goes to show that no matter where you are in the world you never know who your going to bump into neh! Then an old Austrian elder who used to live in NZ for 30 years and still has very good friends living in Christchurch. Tehane,Styeve and Hiku enjoyed their company. This old koroua seemed to be a bit mokemoke for NZ and found comfort in our dressing room Korero talking about old times when he lived in NZ. Another great show in Spittal ending with a great meal then back to the Robinson Club Landskron our hotel. A hotel full of staff ready to please and lots of German holiday makers here for the ski fields what an experience. Our young are taking it all in and enjoy being among so many different cultures they are having a good time. As Tehane said when it was time to depart "I dont want to leave, not yet its so good here". I look at our young troupe and think some great memories are being made today. well whanau thats the end of my report from Spittal drau, again leaving the rest for our three stars to mention in their reports. you all have a good day and keep safe . Ben and Pania Ward. Photos to follow..
