On Saturday, I traveled over to Scarborough which is on the English Channel in the Northeast of England about 1 3/4 hr drive south from my flat in Yarm. It's a lovely drive by mostly on country back roads with speeds dropping to 30 mph as one travels through the villages in the English countryside.
Scarborough sits on the hills overlooking the English Channel. It's a classic English seaside town with lots of shops, narrow streets, a hilly terrain, wide sandy beaches, a fishing harbor, and a large (in area) castle.
I've attached photos of the views from different parts of town. The castle sits on the highest point and offers great views of the town below and of the English coast looking north, south, and out to sea.
