We got up at 4:30am to be ready by 5am for the bus that would take us to Fort Lauderdale. You may ask why we were going to Fort Lauderdale. We made a spur of the moment decision to take a day cruise to the Bahamas!!! We went through customs; where the customs official asked what country was South Africa part of cos she couldn’t find SA on the system, eventually Steve said to her to try ZA and she was successful, so we boarded the ship which turned out as Steve described "a rust bucket". Breakfast was served as we boarded and then we were off to the Bahamas. We arrived at the island of Freeport at lunch time and we caught a bus to Tahino Beach, a private beach, where we were welcomed with a Bahama Mama, a alcoholic beverage. We swam in the sea and spent some time in the resort's pool, which had a super tube in the middle of it. We couldn't resist so like kids we jumped on and hurtled down the slide. We then caught a boat ride to Port Lucaya where all the shops are situated. We found a small bar and had a drink there. At 4pm we boarded the ship again and we sat on the top deck in the sun, sailing into the distance. We then went down to the dining room for dinner and had a buffet dinner. After dinner we went to watch the magic and comedy shows. We docked at about 10pm and then waited for about 30mins while customs cleared the ship. We then waited in the customs line so that we could re-enter the US. The bus trip home was long and we eventually got back to the hotel at 12 that night. It was a really long day.
