Right now I'm in Bryn Athyn - in the cathedral, in fact, at the heart of Bryn Athyn. In ten days I will be boarding a flight that will take me to Los Angeles, where I will hop on another flight that will take me non-stop to the other side of the world, to Sydney, Australia. For the next seven weeks, I will be preaching, teaching, working on my dissertation, meeting new people, hiking, taking pictures, seeing the sights, flying to Perth, meeting even more new people, re-writing sermons, and (hopefully) doing a fair bit of sleeping and eating.
I hope to update this blog regularly while I'm there. This will be my primary way of keeping in touch with all my friends and family, although I certainly wouldn't complain if everyone showered me with emails and phone calls (note: remember the time difference. If you call me at 1:00 in the afternoon, my phone will ring at 3:00 in the morning. I'd rather it didn't.).
So, that's about it for now. Hopefully I'll get around to taking some pictures of me packing and doing other thrilling pre-trip activities.
