|Made it to Boardman, Oregon today. Went through Baker and stopped to look for a rock shop that turned out was no longer there. Asked around about some places to go rockhounding, but everybody said that most everywhere was staked out and if we wanted to, we'd have to go 40-50 miles out of town. A little farther than we wanted to go. The town is quite small and driving this rig around while people stood and looked at us like “What the heck do you think your doing???” was not real fun. Managed to get through town and back out without hitting anything (Just barely). Gave up on the rockhounding thing and headed west. Stopped at the Wild Horse Casino and Gaming place outside of the town of Pendelton. The previous CG host had recommended stopping there for the buffet. I don’t know what he was used to eating but the food there was OK at best. We ate the buffet and then I proceeded to loose 10 bucks on the slots while Gail broke even.(I think maybe the CG host gets a cut.) It was a nice break from driving though. Got back on the road and drove here to Boardman for the evening. It’s a VERY nice little campground right on the Colombia River. It’s run by the town board and is well kept, neat and pretty (Cheap too at $23 full hookup). If your traveling I-84 I highly recommend it.
