See, didn't I tell you that Clark likes Jim better than me!?!
However, Clark does like me- especially when I come with gifts of...
. . . or a good book to read.
I went to swim lessons with Kristine and Clark.
This play date with mom is interrupted for an important phone call.
Clark and Great Uncle Dave
Kristine gives Uncle Dave credit for teaching Clark to say "Cheese!"
Family Portrait by Kristine: Jim, Beth, David, Clark, and Derek "Cheese!"
We're leaving New Hampshire today. We have had a wonderful time visiting with family and experiencing the beauty of the Lake Region of New Hampshire. We were not too impressed with our campground, however.
Family first. . . .
My son Derek, wife Kristine, and son Clark just moved into their new home. They hope to live there until their child(ren?) are grown. Jim and I grandson-sat for three days while Mom and Dad took an anniversary trip to Boston. I did the hard work- like changing diapers, feeding, bathing (poor me)- while Jim "just played" with Clark. Clark is 14 months old and has just started walking. I am very impressed with his vocabulary, but Mom and Dad just don't interpret some of his vocalizations as I do. Gee, I wonder who knows what he is talking about? Jim did work a little. From a safety perspective, he was not satisfied with the protective measures Derek had taken on the fireplace hearth. So he purchased additional cushioning for the hearth so that no matter how Clark might fall, he won't fall upon a sharp brick edge!
Near the end of our 2-week visit, my brother David flew up for a visit. Derek has suggested that he will provide all the dental services for family members free of charge. Well, you can't argue with that! David and Derek have always been close. David is at least somewhat responsible for Derek's interest in hiking and camping. At one point a long time ago when we were talking about Derek's Great Uncle Andy (truly two generations back), Derek was quick to correct us that David was his greatest uncle.
