Pigeon Forge is where Dolly Parton lived as a child, at the base of the Smokey Mountains. We didn't go to Dollywood like we had planned. Since it is mostly an amusment park, we decided to spend our money on several shows instead. The Smith Boys are the Smokies' best known, homegrown family of intertainers and very talented. They do Country, Oldies, Bluegrass, Gosple, Comedy and Impersonations. We also saw "Blast from The Past" staring Matt Cordell. It is a high energy show featuring songs from the 50's, Grease, plus a Tribute to the King! The last night there we saw Lee Greenwood perform live. They say Pigeon Forge is becoming more like Branson with more Theaters and entertainment. We'll let you know after we go to Branson in November.

We also enjoyed shopping in the Arts and Crafts Community in Gatlinburg and touring the early settlements in the forests of the Smokey Mountain National Park.
