Another day of rain. - May 16, 2008

Amused myself today with walking into Avarua and touring around there for a while before hitting the internet cafe. Some very old buildings dating back to the time of the first missionary settlers. Made my way out at night to see a local band "Rora's Rocket Scientists". They provided a set of reworked cover versions for a couple of hours finishing their set with Zombie by the Cranberries. A good way to chill for a few hours. Afterwards the next entertainment source for the night started. I was picked up by the Nitelife tour bus to head around the island sampling the various watering holes. Friday is the big night in Rarotonga so places were busy even although the rain continued outside. Everything shuts at 2am so which I guess is no bad thing. On Sundays the doors are slammed shut at midnight on the dot to avoid being open on the Sabbath. I pray for sun that day as nothing is open.
