Stayed at Billy Browns (get this - owned by a guy named Billy Brown) Absolutely fantastic place - half way up a hill on a small working sheep farm. Views out to the heads and into the harbour. Really cool little place. No tv, no phone, no computers but they had a working record player and records to play!! omigod, it was a flash to the past and it was awesome - I had the place to myself on the first night and then an ex-hopewell tourist showed up. ah well.
There was a coal buring stove in the kitchen which was neat if a bit smelly.
Went for a walk around the farm, scared some sheep, listened to records - I really forgot how short one side of a record is, went to the beach and watched the surfers and the penguins compete on the waves. Made chili - got some wicked gas from too much garlic. Overall, it was a really relaxing 3 days there.
