John and Janna 2008 West Trip travel blog

Miles today: 237

Time today: 5 hours

Travelling from Dodge City, Kansas, to Stratton, Colorado, we saw a few interesting things. In Ingalls Kansas the city limit sign declared that their high school football team was the "8 man division champion". I guess the school has trouble fielding a full 11 man team.

We crossed into the mountain time zone, so we are two hours earlier than eastern time zone. We were in what is called the "High Plains"....high in elevation and flat as a pancake as far as the eye can see. Grain elevators are everywhere along with train tracks and grain cars stored on sidings waiting for the wheat harvest.

The last town in Kansas is Kanorado. It is right on the boarder of Kansas and Colorado.

The Marshall Ash Village RV Park is basically a gravel parking lot with hookups. They had a good laundry and the neighbors were quiet so all was well.
