Walkin' but not talkin'
May 8, 2008
|Yesterday it rained pretty much all day. Just a light drizzle sometimes breaking out into a light sprinkle. I still can't speak above the normal conversation level so I was just hangin' out around the RV.
Marilyn & I had our morning coffee. I had mine with a Z-Pack pill. :)
Later in the morning, Marilyn went to the local Wal-Mart to pick up a few groceries while this little piggy stayed home.
I had just finished my usual morning chores when Jeff knocked on the door. He had his raincoat over his shoulder and asked if I could lead a tour of Cameron Cave. I replied in the negative but offered to go along to make sure he found his way through the cave ok. I told Jeff that I could walk but couldn't talk. That was fine with him so I got my flashlight and jacket, walked over to the gift shop where Jeff was waiting with a very large group of kids and adults. We were off!
Jeff did a fine job and didn't need me along except to keep an eye on the kids and teachers at the end of the group, making sure they kept up with the tour.
Once the tour was over I headed back to the RV. Marilyn was back and she fixed some lunch for us as I sat in the recliner taking it easy.
She prepared some potato soup with a couple slices of hot pepper cheese mixed in. It was yummy!!
I took a nap in the afternoon and began feeling better by evening. We worked some puzzles, watched a little TV, and just took it easy in the evening. We watched the "American Idol" results and agreed with the choice for elimination. All of those kids are very talented though.
We slept with one window open, listening to the very light rain dripping off the trees and dropping onto the awning covering the slideouts. It was a pretty relaxed day and a good night.
I feel better this morning so I can tell that the Z-Pack is working. I have hopes of being back in the cave tomorrow and I am confident that I will be fine for Colby's baptism on Saturday.
I need to get a haircut and locate a plastic tub which contains some dress up clothing for Marilyn.
All in all, yesterday was a good day and today will be even better. I just can't wait to see what this day has in store.....
