Chris´s view of Dali

Cadaques

Cadaques at dawn

Montserrat was a surprise in the sky. We took a tram up to the side of a mountain to walk on some OLD stones. We took our seats at 12:30 to look at the basilica and wait for the boy´s choir at 1p.m. To our surprise, we were part of a wedding ceremony! The voices of all the singers were angelic in the church and the church itself was like none other either of us has seen. The views were far reaching and for some reason the light was always soft and warm, even in the middle of the day.

Leaving Barcelona was a heartbreak, but after a long night of lost sleep--yes, it´s our honeymoon but it´s another story--due to the drunken songs of passerby we knew it was time to go. We stopped in Figures to see the Dali Museum and get our minds twisted by his sketches, paintins and sculptures. A windy road took us through the hills to the coastal town of Cadaques, the birthplace of Salvador Dali. Funny thing, when we got off the bus it started to rain!! In fact, we were just told it might snow for the first time since 1962.

We find solace in sangria, so we must go now to warm our bones. See you in Bordeaux!
