Eke and Brian are Costa Rica Dreamin' - April 2008 travel blog

Selling guavas in the traffic jam.

And airplanes.

Brian in the garden.

And Eke.

Our flight home was not until 1:30PM but we are so used to early starts that we were up by 7AM.

We had a liesurely last breakfast in the garden

saying good bye to our travel mates as the group slowly evaporated.

We felt a certain amount of sadness that the trip was over but nonetheless we were ready to return home.

The taxi ride to the airport was comfortable. It was interesting to see vendors hawking things in the middle of the road when we were stalled in traffic. Everything from guavas

to plastic airplanes.

At the airport check-in was easy but I have never had my passport examined so many times nor so minutely. At least four times, twice with magnifying glasses and special lights.

We ran into George and Jovita at the airport, chatted a bit but then got separated as we all went off to spend our last colonnes.

The flight was comfortable and we even arrived early in Toronto. But that was short-lived because there was no gate crew to handle us. So we waited ten minutes on the tarmac for them to arrive. Then we had to wait further while staff arrived at the gate to guide us to customs and immigration. But that was not the end. We waited another hour for our luggage. The moral of this story is don't get too excited about arriving early.

Nonetheless we arrived safely and soundly after a very enjoyable 19 days in Costa Rica.

Pura Vida.
