Wind, waves, thunder, lightning and WOW..it was a wild last nite at the beach..BUT we were sad to go despite a wild night! BLUE was frightened and kept us up lots last nite..errgh...BLUE was ready to leave the ocean! Fog greeted us this a.m. as we wound our way off the Outer Banks. The sun burned off the fog just as we went over another very long, high, large bridge to head toward Virgina. Paul has been here (Norfolk) for several work-related events when he worked at Bangor Base in Wash...he "sort of" remembered the long bridge-tunnel over-under the river..a HUGE cargo ship was going over the Tunnel while we headed under..what excitement! We saw wonderful nature sights..wild yellow and purple iris/ herons, Ibis(birds), hawks, more pelicans..even a deer! We had to replace tires on the Mazda today..they were Walmart specials(very close to Williamsburg KOA campground) just part of life's little necessities. Looking forward to a day in Williamsburg/Jamestown/several battlefields that are close to this area. Heard form our grandson, Matt, in Wash...that he had actually mowed our lawn..guess that means spring has come to Spokane/Deer Park area..also heard that our granddaughter and mom, Krisi, did the annual Bloomsday Race! in spring-like weather..good job, Katie and MOM! love to you all..hope you are enjoying our trip with us! SOO grateful for safe travels on this adventure!!
