Venice Beach - Could there be a better place to workout?

Views of the RV Park in Malibu

Can't beat this place!

Saw this right out of our window!

We spent some time doing some touristy LA things while we made Malibu, CA our base.

We drove Sunset Blvd from Malibu through Bel Aire, Beverly Hills and then on into Hollywood. We stopped to visit the Grauman’s Chinese Theater and then drove to see the Hollywood sign. To complete our visit we drove Mulholland Drive to see views of LA. (Lynne – do you remember the first time Heather told us about Mulholland?)

We spent a day biking from Santa Monica to Venice Beach. There is a 20+ mile bike path that starts in Santa Monica and runs along and through the beach well past Venice Beach.

We didn’t stay long in Venice, but we did find the beach gym and we did walk along and view some of the items people were selling from their tables along the street. Venice is a neat area, if you like the feel and the scenes of the 60s. Bob would just say unique.

We ate dinner at Moonshadows, which is a Malibu beachside restaurant. It is an interesting place because of the futons that are on their outside deck. People lounge on these and eat on these and do whatever on these. After we saw the pigeons on the beds and then how well they cleaned these things (not), we opted to head inside for dinner.

Dinner was expensive and the food was just OK. We did have fun people watching. There was a blonde girl flirting with her waiter (aspiring actor) and was eating dinner with her Mother, who was writing checks and paying bills. Her fiancé was from and was still in Italy and she had a hangover from the night before. We also saw a woman, who was sweet as pie to the waiter, but nasty nasty to her husband! I guess no different than anywhere else, but from the Bentlys and the Ferarris and the Porshes parked outside – maybe we expected more excitement!
