Chris and Mel's Wild Adventures travel blog

Well, we made it through the airport with no problems, so we are safely in Phuket. We went straight to the dive shop, found a place to stay, and are off to dinner.

Taking the recommendation of Keevan, the gentleman who arranged our diving excursion, we wandered off to the far end of Kata beach to find this little Thai version of a raggae restaurant. It was interesting to see the servers speaking thai and wearing rasta gear. I guess melting pots are everywhere.

While at dinner, we did get a chance to see the legendary white lights, beautiful lanterns which are launched, hot air balloon style, over the ocean. We watched several until they seemed to disappear above the clouds. It's amazing that such simple things can travel so far.

Well, off to bed to prepare for our 5:30 wake up call in the morning.
