Rain, then Sunshine
Apr 23, 2008
|Yesterday morning we awoke to thunderstorms and rainy skies. Over our morning coffee we decided that it would be a good day to have some home made bean soup. We needed some ham hocks to season the soup so we made a trip to the store, picking up more items than we intended. :)
When we walked out of the Wal-Mart, the rain had stopped and the sun was shining. Well! Once back at the RV Marilyn decided to go ahead with the plans for bean soup. We had also decided to go mushroom hunting, so we were getting ready for that. I went outdoors to wait for Marilyn and Matt yelled at me, asking if I could help him for a bit. He had purchased a motor-home and needed to go pick it up. He asked if I would go along and drive his truck back to the campground, following him in case he had a problem.
OK, I explained to Marilyn what was going on and that we would still go looking for mushrooms later.
Matt and I were gone for a bit less than two hours.
We returned a bit after twelve noon and I had to have some lunch. Then Marilyn & I headed out for a nice walk in the woods, to look for mushrooms. Jeff and his daughter took the "Gator" and went ahead of us. The sad truth is that Jeff and his daughter found lots of mushrooms and we found none.
We did enjoy the nice walk though. :)
We watched TV in the evening, enjoying the music on "American Idol" and then the turmoil on "Big Brother".
I went to bed and watched some news to see how the Dem primary was going, before I dropped off to sleep.
We slept again with the windows open and it was 57 degrees outdoors when we awakened this morning.
Marilyn plans to go visit Jen and Colby today while I give tours in the cave.
Yesterday was a good day even with no mushrooms, and I just can't wait to see what this day has in store.....
