| We were awakened at about 6:30am in the mroning! These early mronings were really beginning to get to me and I tried to steal a few extra minutes in my sleeping bag. After a brief wash up, we had breakfast and loaded up the vehicles for the drive into the crater. The crater was very, very cold!! That is what I will remember apart from the still more amazing animal encounters. The only disappointment was that we would eventually fall short of our goal to see all five of the Big Five. Due to the cold (according to our driver) the Rhino did not emerge from their holes in the forest. We stayed in the crater until the very last minute, hoping to spot one but it was to be.....perhps fate decided to give us a specific reason to return to this wonderful place soon.
