Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Yesterday we awoke to a warm, sunshine filled day with temperatures reaching the upper 70’s during the afternoon. My voice had not yet returned to normal so I elected to not give any tours. Maybe on Tuesday I’ll be back to normal.

After our morning coffee I decided to clean out and reorganize the basement storage area. Yes, again!

I find it hard to believe that we have lived in this RV for 20 months now and I am still not organized. I use something and then put it back into the basement storage area, in the most convenient place, and then when I need it again, it is no where to be found.

Marilyn asked me. “What happened to that organized, professional guy I married?”

Well, he retired and you are stuck with me!

This time I did better, putting things into tubs in an organized manner, cooking stuff in one tub, cleaning stuff in another tub, etc. I even took the time to mark on each tub, the contents, so that I can easily locate things when I need them. At least that is the idea.

I ended up with several tubs to take the storage shed on the farm.

I even took the “hidden hitch” bicycle rack off the RV. I will store the hitch and the bikes at the farm until we head south to the Rio Grande Valley this fall. I don’t anticipate that this old man will need to be riding his bike up and down the mountains in Colorado this summer. :)

Just about the time I was finished with my cleaning project, Jennifer arrived with Colby.

We visited with Jennifer and played with Colby. Colby melts my heart with his grin. He watches as we talk to him and he gets his mouth all screwed up into different shapes as he tries to talk. At least that is what it looks like to grandpa.

I finally went outdoors to begin grilling chicken for a very late lunch. We had grilled chicken, broccoli & cauliflower, cottage cheese, and some bread & butter pickles for lunch.

After our lunch, Marilyn stayed to baby sit with Colby while Jennifer and I ran a few errands. Jennifer and Colby headed for home not long after we returned to the RV.

Marilyn & I sat outdoors with a cold drink, enjoying the beautiful weather. John, one of our cave guides, stopped to sit and visit for awhile before going home. Then a guy in a huge motorhome pulling a trailer with his Harley’s in it stopped to visit. He was from Minnesota and was on his way to Georgia for a big motorcycle rally.

Marilyn & I finally went inside to have some dinner and watch some TV. Before we went inside, I put all of the lawn furniture away for the night.

Marilyn & I ate leftovers for dinner and watched “Deal or No Deal”.

I finally went to bed around 9:30 PM to read for awhile, until my eyelids began slamming shut and I found myself reading the same paragraph over and over again.

We slept with the windows open all night but were awakened about 6:00 AM by the sound of thunder.

I got out of bed to close the open windows and stayed up to post the journal entry.

I had the journal entry finished and clicked on the proper button to post the entry. By this time it was pouring rain outdoors and as I tried to post the entry for this morning, we lost our wi-fi connection.

So, what you are getting this morning is a “Re-Do”. It is close to what I wrote the first time but maybe with a bit less humor. I may have lost a wee tad bit of that when I had to do the whole thing over again. :)

In any case, I hope that each of you have a wonderful day today. We had a really fine day yesterday and I just can’t wait to see what this day has in store.....
