The next day was amazing scenic drive to the wild coast. South Africa has gorgeous countryside: majestic mountains, rolling hills and big sky. It really is beautiful. We spent the next couple of days in a small town called Mazeppa Bay. Not much to do here but take it easy and relax on the beach.
We were really fortunate to get invited for lunch with a local family. We were greeted with singing and dancing by the women and were then treated to a traditional home cooked meal. Everyone loved having their photos taken and we got some great photos and footage of our afternoon. All of the women working at the hotel were so thrilled to see our photos on Rob`s laptop later that evening as many of the locals at lunch were their family members. It was really a privilege to be invited to see how they live. Despite the poverty they seemed to be such happy people. This is the saddest part of South Africa – there are so many poor people and it`s impossible to imagine it getting better for them anytime soon.
Anyways... it was pretty amazing, and Rob decided to print all of the pictures and mail them back to the village so they had could show the family...
