Coming into Bright

Beautiful Autumn colours

Where do I start!! Catching up is really hard. Ok, here we go! Were planning on leaving Jindabyne for Bright on Thursday. Wednesday night as I put Hamish to bed he said that he felt sick in the tummy. Well; I know when Hamish says this to look out and sure enough we were up a few times in the night with a bucket. Then in the morning we had to decide what to do. Do we cut our losses now and try to get to Bright? Should we bring our bugs with us? After talking with Cassandre, we decided to get moving on to Bright. We packed up, complete with bucket, and headed off over the mountain to Bright.

The road to Bright (quickest route) winds up and down over mountains. We knew it would be a bit of a challenge so headed off for a LONG trip. We could actually smell our caravan brakes we had to go that slowly. Todd expertly used the gears to get us down the hill, sometimes hauling the Cruiser and van in first gear!! It worked out fine. we got down safely and the drive was just amazing and picturesque. Saw part of the Snowy Mountain Scheme on the way down and stopped for lunch at Tom Groggin's park where Hamish suddenly came good and ate lunch. Obviously the bug had run it's course and everything was back to normal.

Arrived at Bright about 4.30pm and Darren met us at the back gate to put the van in the backyard. Cassandre came home from work, and it was drinks all round over lasagne for dinner.

Emma (oldest daughter) is running in the Autumn Festival Queen competition at the moment and as such is in the middle of organising a fundraiser along with the other entrants. (Of course we're not biased in saying that the other entrants don't have a chance!!) The fundraiser is a trivia night along with an Op Shop fashion parade. As soon as she saw how much Keely had grown, she was roped in to be a model for the night. Of course Keely was beaming to be asked by this beautiful older girl and the date was set. Keely then sang to us that night, after which Emma made some phone calls and she was also 'booked' for a gig at the trivia night. Needless to say Keely never wants to leave!!
