2007-2008 Sailing Interlude Points South travel blog

Hi All!

We made it to Spanish Wells today. We were hoping to do sailing today but the weather gods changed their minds so it was...yet again...another motor and sail day.

We headed out of Alabaster Bay with Paul and Deb on WERPLAYIN and Gary and Bunnie on RACHEL E. We are now at the marina in Spanish Wells with WERPLAYIN. Looks like we will catch up with the other boats at Royal Island to stage for the crossing to the Abacos tomorrow night.

Hopefully tomorrow we will catch a ferry that will take us over to Harbor Island and Dunsmore Town for the day. They say that the fast ferry is a real thrill especially if we have large ocean swells. Harbor Island is the home of the rich and famous...and is one of the most affluent areas of the Bahamas. We are planning to see some of older architecture and take a look at the beaches. Will take some pictures.

Still trying to catch up on the pictures, internet has been a big challenge here. Hopefully when we get to the Abacos we will get it on a more consistent basis!

Spanish Wells is a wealthy fishing community. The town is more substantial than most and they have two grocery stores...one medium and one large. Hopefully we can get stocked up on the things we need before heading out again!

Well gotta run! Thanks for stopping by. Hope all is well with you and yours. Keep in touch!

Cathie on s/v INTERLUDE. Out.
