Chillin' & Grillin'
Apr 16, 2008
|Yesterday was a nice day with temperatures almost reaching the 70 degree mark. At least it was a sunny day with temps in the 60's and a light breeze.
Marilyn & I had our morning coffee and then had a few chores to accomplish. Marilyn went with me to wash the Van and fill it with gasoline. Fuel cost was $3.23.9 at Wal-Mart. Ugh!
We then stopped at the bank to get some cash so that Marilyn could have some money to go shopping. She left soon after we returned to the campground, driving to Quincy, Il to see a long time friend. Maggie was Marilyn's room mate when Marilyn was going to school in Quincy and we were dating each other.
After they had a nice visit Marilyn went shopping and picked up some things for Colby. Nearly everything she purchased was for Colby. I can see where my money is going to be spent from now on. :)
I wanted to thank all of you who sent e-mails and posted messages to me in reference to yesterday's journal entry about Screen Doors and Windmills. I appreciate your kind comments very much. By the way, you may check out the rv-dreams magazine by going to: www.rv-dreams-lifestyles.com/
You might read the other article I wrote entitled "From Jet Pilot to Full-Time RVer". There are also quite a few other stories about this lifestyle we love so much. Howard has done so much to help all of us who are interested in this lifestyle or who are new to it. Please take the time to check out this excellent on-line magazine.
Well, back to yesterday. When Marilyn & I returned to the campground we noticed a school bus sitting in the parking lot. Oh, Oh, I wonder if they need me to give a tour.
I walked over to the gift shop and, sure enough, they had tried to find me to give a tour to some kids from Hannibal. They had more than enough people for three tours and had only two guides on duty. So I took the second group with me and we had a wonderful time. The kids enjoyed it a lot and I only had to yell one time to get them quiet. :)
Later in the day, after Marilyn returned from her shopping trip, I set up the grill and grilled some hamburgers while Marilyn fixed baked potatoes. We had a filling dinner and settled down to watch American Idol and Big Brother.
When those shows were over I went to bed to read some short stories by my favorite author, Patrick McManus.
I didn't sleep well last night. Sometimes that happens and I don't know why. In any case I feel tired this morning. It is going to be a beautiful day today so I had better perk up.
So, after a good day yesterday we look forward to today and just can't wait to see what this day has in store.....
