Today we made a quick stop at Saguaro National Park – West, near Tucson.
Saguaro National Park is located in the Sonora desert and is a park dedicated to the Saguaro cactus. The Saguaro cacti are the large green Gumby looking plants that you think of when people say AZ.
We didn’t stay long at the park because we would have had to unhook the Jeep to take the 8 mile scenic drive within the park. We just checked out the areas within walking distance from the visitor center. We spent about an hour walking around. The Sonora desert is actually very beautiful - in its own way. We were lucky that we were there when many plants were starting to bloom.
Other attractions located close to Saguaro National Park are the Sonora Desert Museum and the Old Tucson Studios. We didn’t visit these, but they got good reviews from one English couple we met.
Well, another National Park to check off!
One thing I miss a lot is Body Secrets and Sandi! It is not fun going to a new hair stylist. It’s a bad feeling when you cringe every time the scissors come near your head! It’s a good thing hair grows back!
