Jack & Marge visit
Apr 13, 2008
|Yesterday we awoke to a cool, wet, and windy day. It felt colder than it was due to the raw wind which seemed to "go right through you", as my Mom used to say.
Marilyn & I enjoyed our morning coffee in our warm and cozy little home on wheels, while listening to some mariachi music from a cd we purchased in Mexico last winter.
We then called Jack & Marge to ask if they would like to go out for breakfast. The answer was yes, so I jumped into the shower, did my usual morning routine, and put on some clean clothing. Soon we were ready to go. We picked up Jack & Marge, then drove to Logue's Restaurant for breakfast. All of us except Marilyn, ordered biscuits and gravy so it was a meal designed to keep us going all day. After a liesurely breakfast we drove around Hannibal, giving Jack & Marge the "tour".
By the time we returned to the campground we had covered most of the town and it was time for the Masters Golf Tourney on TV.
We dropped the girls off at the candle shop and I drove Jack to his RV in the back part of the campground.
I was watching TV when Marilyn returned and we watched Tiger try to get back into the thick of things in the golf match.
We had decided to go out to dinner at the old Plantation restaurant, around 5:00 PM. We had been told to go early in order to get the special of prime rib before it was gone. Once there I was the only one who ordered the prime rib. Both of the ladies ordered Italian food and Jack tried the chopped beef steak. The side dishes of green beans, corn and buttered potatoes, along with the salad bar assured that no one would leave hungry.
Once back at the campground Marilyn & I watched the "Pink Panther" movie and then I was off to bed to read for awhile. I know that I must have been asleep by 9:30 PM, and slept great throughout the night.
We have a few plans for today but I will tell you about those things tomorrow.
As for the rest of this day, well I just can't wait to see what this day has in store.....
