Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Yesterday we awoke to a rainy, windy, stormy day. Marilyn & I had our morning coffee while watching the rain pouring from the sky. I decided that it was a great day to fix a pot of my beef vegetable soup and settle down to watch the Masters Golf Tourney from Augusta, Georgia.

Marilyn decided to go to the store with me so we braved the rain and went grocery shopping. The rain had let up a little by the time we returned to our little home on wheels and once the groceries were put away, I began browning the stew meat in olive oil, added the onions, celery, garlic, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes and mushrooms, the beef broth and the cabbage. The phone rang as I was busy and it was Patty asking if I could please give a tour, because they had a large bus full of kids from Chicago arriving, and needed another guide for one tour.

The group of kids I had were all good kids and we had fun. It was a good tour. I walked back to the RV, and it smelled great as I opened the door. The soup made my mouth water and I soon had to try it. Two large bowls of soup was quite enough, but the result was that I felt really sleepy. I decided to lie down on the bed to watch the Masters golf tourney. Ha!!

I dozed off and on and didn't see much golf. Marilyn woke me by repeating the storm warnings she was hearing on the TV. They actually had several tornado warnings nearby. Jennifer called saying that they had lost their electric power. All we had here at the campground was the distant sound of thunder.

When we have a tornado warning here, we can't miss it because the sirens are located only a few hundred feet from the campground, and they unlock the cave and make it a storm shelter for all of the folks here in the campground.

So, while the storms went around us, we enjoyed an evening of "Survivor" and some Cardinal baseball.

It was an ok day yesterday and we hope all of you had a good day, wherever you are. As for today, well I just can't wait to see what this day has in store.....
