Arizona Here We Come! travel blog

We wake this morning to a cloudy day, and by mid day we have had two pretty intense showers. By mid-afternoon it is back to beautiful, perfect and sunny. The reputation of Tucson is safe.

Today the main activity is the Show and Tell. Rigs are open for tours to see the additions and updates of the owners. This is interesting - execially for George who is measuring, making notes and taking photos. Several times I look and see 3-4 guys with their heads stuck in the basement of a rig. I really think this is Georges favorite part of the trip. I think he has enough projects to keep him buys for 2 years.

We have seen several presentations that were interesting. Tim and Susan did a great presentation on a trip they took to Alaska and the Yukon via the Alaska highway. It was informative and full of information. What a beautiful place. I am sure we will take them trip one day when I retire (or take a 3 month break).

Last night, we went to a presentation of Wintering In Mexico by Rick and Tinka. Lots of great information and beautiful beaches. This was really of interest to me until we got to the water and electricity part. The electrical available is 15 amps (think one plug in your house) and the voltage fluctuates wildly. Since our rig takes 50 amps - I can see us easily burning down our rig or at least frying our electrical system and appliances. It is hot in Mexico, and there is not enough electrical capacity to run our air conditioners. When you see George and I in Mexico we will be in a hotel!

Tomorrow is our last day in Tucson. Bummer! I would like to stay at least another week but I have stuff to do the end of next week. This is the first time we have been out that I am not ready to start home by 2 weeks out.

George is feeling better, and being careful to eat right and regularly. The dogs are happy as clams.
