Dave & Lynda's 2008 Travels travel blog

Good Morning! Today is our last day at Horseshoe Mountain Resort. Which means when Dave gets up, we will start packing to leave... I think check out time is 11 or noon. This has been a very lovely spot to enjoy.. I am glad we came here.

I have spent some time this morning and most of yesterday afternoon trying to download some pictures of this place. I think the WiFi signal is too low. The first day I was here I sent the pictures of Anna Ruby Falls... so I know that it might. But it gets into that download picture mode and does nothing. Yesterday I even let it sit for a few hours because it says it is slow... but it never completed the download. Today I canceled out of it after 15 minutes. I can add pictures to this one later!

Yesterday Dave surprised me with and EasterBasket full of chocolate! We spent the day watching HGTV and eating chocolate! I'll tell you we have reached the top when it comes to ability to do nothing! If that is what we came on this trip to learn.. we have succeeded! We did take 3 or 4 walks, and I did quilt all evening... so we weren't total couch potatoes... but close!

I talked to Jarrod, Sara and Mom and Dad, yesterday to wish them a Happy Easter. Jarrod had some fresh snow in Cleveland on the weekend. He and the kids went to Sara's and colored Easter eggs and went to Church. Mom and Dad were having a lovely Easter Dinner brought in by their wonderful neighbors. Ian called me back in the evening to tell me he had used the potty again. Yeah, another celebration at their house!

We are moving East today to a State Park that has another beautiful falls. We are in the middle of Gold country here in Georgia. They had a small gold rush here in the early 1800's. The Us even established a mint there in 1838. One of the villages we will be going through, Dahlonega, was formed during that rush. We looked at the possibility of staying the night in that park, but we may just keep going after we see what there is there to see. I think we are planning on getting back on Rt 75 and heading North again, soon.

Well, I guess I will close up this journal before it goes away again. If we get somewhere there are stronger signals, I will add the pictures I tried to put in. Keep in touch, I love hearing from you!
