Little girl on one of the floating islands of UROS

Tacquile Island in Lake Titicaca

We┬┤ve arrived in Puno after another long bus ride. Again we were blessed with sightings of many animals including alpacas, lamas, chinchillas in the wild, funny looking rabbit, flamingos,....

WE've checked into yet another hotel and this one is really cute. Right down town Puno on a street the bus can't get down so we got dropped off at the town square and carried everything to the hotel. Altitude sickness kicked in again. Oh well. We can get coca tea whenever we want in the lobby and are drinking as much as we can but.....

It's hard to avoid looking like tourists here. Only the tourists have white skin and carry back packs. We just have fun trying to talk to the locals. They think it's great fun when we try to speak spanish and laugh patronizingly at us.

We're checking out the town for souvenirs we might want to buy. It's a pain as you just look at something and they won't leave you alone. We got a couple of hats for the boat ride tomorrow to the floating islands of Taquile and staying at Amantani.
