Chloe and Jonjo's Australia Adventure travel blog

Well it's Jonjo's birthday and joy oh joy we had to get up at 6. Today we start our tour of the Great Ocean Road!! The great thing is on our tour are four people from our last tour so as soon as we got on the bus we knew people.

Our guide was called Ali and she brought a friend of hers on tour with her, she was pretty lively but not as much as our previous guide. It was a fair bit of driving to get out of the city and we didn't really see anything till after lunch when we stopped at Mackenzie Falls. We walked down to the bottom of the waterfall and dipped our feet in, it was really nice. We also stopped at The Balconies for a photo op. Then on to the hostel, we were in a 6 bed dorm and at dinner Jonjo got a birthday cake and sung to in lots of different languages it was a really good night.

Our second we were up late, a little hung over and nearly missed breakfast. Off on the road again more driving till our first stop at The Grampians. We walked to the top of one the peaks and the view was amazing, a bit scary though. We drove for a couple of hours and stopped for lunch where we were surrounded by Emus and koalas in the trees. We got to the Limestone coast and saw the Bay of Islands then The Bay of Martyrs, The Grotto and London Bridge. Our hostel was in Port Campbell and after dinner we went to watch the sunset over the Twelve Apostles (well 10 and a half but hey). Then we got to see the fairy penguins coming up onto the beach, well sort of they were soo small we could only make out little black shapes!!
