Puerto Viejo is a Carribbean town where many of the people are black and speak a version of English (creole?). Great food and relaxed pace. We took a side trip to Manzanillo reserve and had a memorable nature hike led by a rastafarian guide named Ricky. Saw lots of wildlife and got really close to a sloth sleeping in a tree. He had us eating termites, too! Spicy/peppery flavor... Maybe I shouldn't have had them exterminated from my house ;)
