Wireless Router problem now fixed
Feb 25, 2008
|Yesterday we awoke to warming temperatures which eventually reached 40 degrees F. Much of our snow melted but we have scattered snow on the ground and the entire campground is very wet.
We also discovered that we had no internet service yesterday morning. We tried several things but the internet simply was out of service. I wrote the journal entry in MS Word and was able to post it later in the day.
After our morning coffee, Marilyn and I dressed for church. It was nice to walk into the church and see an old friend rehearsing his music for the Mass. Other old friends walked by us, patting me on the shoulder as they passed. Beth and her family sat with us in the pew, and the Priest, Father Mike, is a friend from many years ago. Needless to say, we enjoyed our morning.
We stopped at the grocery store on the way home, to pick up a few groceries, and also bought some fried chicken to have for our lunch.
We watched the Match Play golf tournament on TV and just relaxed in the afternoon.
I went outdoors to find a concrete block to use as a weight to hold our DISH tripod down. I located the block I wanted and carried it back to our site. Those things have gotten heavier as the years go by. :) I then took the antenna apart and located the tools I need to get things fixed. Today I need to drill a couple of holes to hold an arm in place, and then set the elevation and skew for our zip code.
Marilyn went for a walk around the campground, staying on the roads to avoid the sloppy ground. We have been hearing the Pileated Woodpeckers we have here, and yesterday we saw one of them flying from a tree near us. They are a large, beautiful bird, about the size of a hawk, with red, black and white markings. They are very elusive though and it is difficult to catch sight of them.
As evening approached, I decided to prepare some of my sweet pepper skillet stew for dinner. We put some Mexican mariachi music on the Ipod, fixed a margarita for each of us, and visited with each other as I did the cooking. We spoke to Jennifer on the phone several times during the evening, always remembering to say those special words, “I love you” at the end of our conversation. What a wonderful young lady Jennifer is. We are so proud of her.
It was an enjoyable evening. We had a great night of sleep last night and the temperature this morning is 36 degrees. We are supposed to have rain and maybe some more snow. Hey, we were almost out of snow so bring it on! :)
Today is a new day. We are warm and cozy, in a beautiful place, and I just can’t wait to see what this day has in store…..
