Antigua, Guatamala to San Salvador, El Salvador - Feb 5, 2008

Feb 5. Antigua to San Salvador, El Salvador. 240 miles 1945 miles from McAllen 2994 miles from home. Border crossing took about four hours. Roads in Guatamala were poor but those in El Salvador were mostly very good. Pretty day but hot, above 90 all day. Nice ride, except the part after dark. With the time at the border we still had to ride almost three hours in the dark, no lines, no shoulders, much traffic. Like most of Mexico and Central America the many people live on/right next to the road, so the road is more or less their front yard. There no shoulders much of the way so they walk in the road like we would use a sidewalk. This night ride was not fun but we got in okay, good hotel and good meal but no time for computer.
