Inverted Pyramid @ the Louvre

Le Louvre at night

Ah, this is our last day in Paris so we have arranged a tour of the Louvre. It is just as the guide says, it would take months to see it all. Still, we got to see the Venus de Milo, The Mona Lisa and the Winged Victory. Not that they were all that we saw as we stopped to look at a lot of Roman and Greek statuary and of course many paintings.

Once the tour was over we were free to continue on our own so we spent a lot of time looking through the Egyptian section. We followed that up with some lunch then off to check out the apartments of Napoleon III. Talk about opulence! It was possibly on a par with Versailles!

We enjoyed the Louvre immensely and it has given us a reason to visit France again.

So now we are off to the airport back to Heathrow and then on to Singapore. We heard this morning that British Airways pilots have voted to strike and we are travelling BA! Perhaps we will get stuck here in Paris at their expense - that would be hard to take :-).
