Lake Geneva

Sunset at Geneva

TGV to Paris

Yesterday I mentioned just how cold it was in Genève and today wasn't any different. We had the morning to do touristy things so we decided to go for a cruise on the lake. It really was both interesting and enjoyable but both of us have never felt so cold! Even with thinsulate gloves on my fingers felt like ice.

We have really enjoyed Switzerland, it definitely is a most beautiful country and is high on our list for return visits, but Genève was not the most enjoyable place. We both feel that the German speaking parts of Switzerland were the nicest.

In the afternoon we boarded the TGV train for Paris. This is a very comfortable train that travels at over 300 km/hr on the high speed tracks. Travelling by train at that speed was definitely an experience worth having! It took us about 3 hrs to get across France to Paris.

And so we have arrived in Paris, found our hotel (very nice I might add) on the Left Bank of the Seine.

After settling in we wandered out to find something to eat. Stopping at a sidewalk cafe we bought some food and of course a bottle of wine. The place was buzzing on the Sunday evening with just about every cafe full with people.
