On the Golden Pass Panoramic Train

Swiss Chalet

Toni and Rose Draeyer (Juerg's parents)

Sadly we had to say goodbye to Interlaken today. I admit we loved this place immensely. However, not to be dismayed, we travelled on the Golden Pass Panoramic train first of all to Zweisimmen (I think I've spelt it right) where we had to change trains and get into the first class panoramic carriage. At the change over we were met by Juerg's parents (for those of you who do not know Juerg, he is a Swiss Doctor working in Yeppoon @ John Lloyd's surgery). Toni and Rose were lovely people and even though we only had 5 mins together it was a wonderful experience to meet them. They are coming to Aus later in the year.

Both Robyn and I were totally mindblown at the most fabulous scenery we have seen. Snow covered mountains, fields, Swiss chalets and little villages. Unfortunately we still can't show the pics as we can't upload them.

Finally after about 3 hours we reached Genève. Oh boy, we weren't expecting it to be so cold! This was most definitely the coldest we have been! Fortunately the hotel was 1 min walk from the train station. Not only that, the hotel is a couple of blocks away away from the red light district. Sex shops everywhere and prostitutes on street corners........
