Roy & Robyn's Europe Trip 2008 travel blog

We had decided yesterday to do a relay in taking our cases to the railway station. It was only a short walk from our hotel so Rob and I took one case over then Rob waited at the station for me to bring over the next one.

Finally we caught our train to Interlaken which required a change at Bern. No problems! Seasoned travellers are we, and changing trains is no worries mate!

As we travelled up to Interlaken we went deeper into the Alps and it wasn't long before we were surrounded by snow.

The scenery was magnificent, breathtaking and unimagineably beautiful. It took us a couple of hours to get to Interlaken and the trains were very comfortable.

Off the train around 1pm, then caught a taxi to our hotel only to find it was 3 mins walk down the road. Duh!!!!

The hotel is lovely with a big room to spread out in. Took a walk down the main street of Interlaken, calling in at the Tourist Centre to see what we could do tomorrow. Found a supermarket where we bought a bottle of wine for 3 Swiss Francs (around $3AUD)and a 500ml can of beer for 1 swiss franc. Oh, we also bought some food for a meal back at the hotel.

Found the hotel had BBC Prime TV channel so we were able to watch some English language TV, other than the news.
