Sunset on the Coral Sea

Sunset on the Coral Sea

Hello to everyone and thanks for stopping by . We have been sailing the Coral Sea for the last few days . The weather has been variable , some sun and some showers . The seas were quite rough earlier but now have become calm . Currently we are 260 nautical miles from land and the water depth is 9800 ft . Tomorrow at about 1 PM we should arrive in the Solomon Islands at Honiara . We have been informed that this is an " emerging destination " so it should be interesting . Pete and I will be taking the battlefield tour on Guadalcanal and we are looking forward to that . It is somewhat surreal for us to be hereat sea but also to watch the Super Bowl live as well as read the Houston Chronicle daily . Of course , when it is delivered to us it is a day old as we have crossed the International Dateline .
