1/30 - 2/1
Although we are only seeing a small part of the Antarctic Peninsula it is certainly impressive. Our captain weaved through channels and into bays, one more beautiful than the next. We were extremely lucky with the weather, mostly clear to partly cloudy with temperatures in the high 30's. We saw a great deal of wildlife including, penguins and other birds, seals and whales. Probably the highlight is this area is the vast array of icebergs from row-boat size to over a ΒΌ of a mile long (looked like a perfect airport). When you consider that the beauty of this area can only be appreciated maybe during 5% of its existence (the rest of the year is bad visibility and very bad weather), we are indeed lucky people.
