Lake Louisa

Pier on the lake

camp site

We left YEE HAW around 10 a.m. after a good breakfest of eggs and all the good stuff that we are not to eat, because it is bad for us. We headed on up the road in cow country. Miles and miles of open land for the cows. Located on the Kissimmee River is the largest DUDE Ranch in the U.S.A., it has everything that you would want. you can even own the house lots or a camping lot in the woods. It is like a town for the cowboys and cowgirls in all of us.

After a few hours of driving we made it to Lake Wales,Florida , it is time to stop at Wal-Mart for some supplies for the next few days.

Arriving at the state parks, it was time to see the park ranger and get a camp site for the next few days. We drove about two miles in the park to get to the camp site. Very nice park with great camp sites. The park was made in 1977, given to the state by Bronson family in 1973. During the 2001 drought, when the lake level dropped, two prehistoric dugout canoes were found in the lake , remnants of a crashed P-51 Mustang were also found. The parks has 4,500 acres, with six lakes and 105 miles of lake shoreline.
