The Sun is back
Jan 20, 2008
|Yesterday we awoke to another cloud filled sky with wind and cool temperatures in the 40's. I asked Marilyn to make out a grocery list, promising to make the trip to Wal-Mart for her. After our morning coffee was finished I dressed for the short journey to Wally world and headed out. I decided to stop at Gilbert's site to see if he would like to go along. He wanted to go with me so away we went.
We strolled up and down the aisles with our cart, picking up items along the way. Wal-Mart wasn't busy and I had no Grrrr factors intruding on my peaceful day. :)
Once back at the resort, I dropped Gilbert off at his RV and then parked behind our little home on wheels and unloaded groceries while Marilyn put them away.
I checked our propane supply and holding tanks but all was well and no work was needed yet.
The sun came out shortly after we got comfortable in our recliners, but the strong north wind kept things cool, with the temperature never reaching the 60's all day. I kept the shades open all day and the bright sunshine filling the RV kept things warm enough that the furnace didn't run all day. I did hear it cycle on and off during the night last night, keeping us warm and toasty.
Today is supposed to be near 70 and then the temperature is supposed to be in the 70's all week. That is a good thing, because we have the bike ride in Mexico next Friday.
Marilyn and I talked about getting out for a walk yesterday but never worked up enough desire to actually get out and do it. We became couch potatoes for the day. I can guarantee that we are all rested up from the activity last week and we are ready for some fun this week.
There wasn't much to watch on TV yesterday but Carl stopped by and brought over a movie that we haven't watched in years, called "The Long, Long Trailer" with Lucille Ball and Dezi Arnez. It has been redone for the DVD and was funny, keeping us amused with the antics of first time trailer folks. That movie is worth watching for you folks who may never have seen it or who haven't seen it in a long time.
I went to bed early last night, tried to read for awhile but found myself reading the same paragraph over and over again because my eyelids kept slamming shut, so I finally turned out the light around 9:30 PM.
The result of that is that I am wide awake now, at 4:30 in the morning. :) I can foresee an afternoon nap in my future for today.
We spoke with Jennifer last night. She was off work at the hospital and headed home, tired and worn out. She also works today before having a couple of days off. She said the temperature back in northeast Missouri was 6 degrees F. Brrrrrrr!!
I have a few things to get done today and I'll tell you about that tomorrow. As for now, I think I'll put the coffee on and let the aroma awaken my bride. :)
This is going to be a fine day and I just can't wait to see what this day has in store.....
