Hanoi Market

Hanoi Old Quarter

Eating breakfast on the street

Breakfast anyone?

Here we are in Hanoi! Hanoi is Vietam's capital city, located in the north of the country. We have mostly been checking out the Old Quarter, which used to be the center of town a long time ago. Each street sold a certain item. One street was chicken, another eggs, another bread, etc. Now it is mainly hotels, although there are still hundreds of little shops lining the road. There are tons of street food stalls, where you can get a bowl of Pho for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Bryan and I decided to take a seat this morning and try the food, although we were a little nervous. Let's just say the health department wouldn't really approve of their cooking and cleaning standards.

In the center of town, there is a lake where they do water puppet shows, which seems to be the main attraction here. I know what you are thinking, exactly what is a water puppet? Not sure yet, but we are going to a show this afternoon, so we will let you know how it is. :)

Other than that, Hanoi is mainly a stop for us to begin or journey into China. Tomorrow we jump on a bus across the border, and prepare ourselves for more than a week of snow and freezing temperatures. Ahh! It's like we are back in Reno!

We'll share more of our trip as soon as we can -- Hope you are all doing well!
