Jack & Lorraine's Florida Trip 2008 travel blog

Hi Everyone,

We spent last night in Montgomery Alabama at an overnight campground. Got up and continued our journey another 160 miles to Florida. While in Alabama, we passed cotton fields with the cotton still on the plant waiting to be picked. I had never seen that.

We arrived at our campsite around 12:30pm and quickly got started making it home for the next few days.

So far we have had good luck with our travels (knock on wood) However, after we arrived at the campground, Jack decided to unload the Harley only to find that the battery was dead, the front tire on my peddle bike was flat, and the registration on the motorcycle had expired. We laughed, and said "shame on those toys we take them on vacation, and this is the way they act". I'm going to call the insurance company in the morning, and have them overnight us a new registration. All kidding aside, it really has been fun, as well as educational.

The campground that we are staying in now is called Rocky Bayou, it is a Florida State Campground, and it really is beautiful. I'll take pictures tomorrow to show you.

After we were settled in, we met with Jack's aunt & uncle that live only four miles from here for dinner at a Cajun restaurant. It was good food, and great company.

Well, until tomorrow night.....keep warm and dry.

Thanks for all your favorable comments...... We miss U-allll.

Love Ya!

Jack & Lorraine
