Ralph & Rosalie Arrive
Jan 14, 2008
|Yesterday was another beautiful day here in the valley. Although it wasn't quite as warm as it has been, the sun shone brightly and the breeze was very mild, with temperatures just at 70 degrees.
Marilyn and I had our morning coffee as we talked about the activities we have planned for Ralph & Rosalie's visit. They will be here until Friday morning this week and we have many things to show them. Also, the weather is a factor because the forecast is for rain and cooler temperatures. Naturally!
Ralph called a little before 10 AM to let us know that they were just south of Waco, heading our way.
Marilyn & I went to work to get things all squared away in the RV, then we both took our showers, dressed, and were ready for the day. I took the truck to be washed and Carl rode along with me, but we were unable to find a car wash place open. Not all of the places will accept a truck with dual rear wheels. So, we are flexible, and I decided to do the job myself. Although it isn't as nice as the professional job would have been, the truck does look nice.
Later I took the trash out, Carl & I riding in his golf cart, down to the dumpster. Then Marilyn & I settled down to watch some football. Ralph called when he had just passed Pharr, TX and that let us know how close he was.
Marilyn & I jumped into the truck and drove over to the motel Ralph & Rosalie were going to use. We had just parked the truck and sat for one minute when we saw his car coming down the road. We shared hugs all around, allowed them to check in, and then loaded all of us into the truck to show them around our resort.
We parked at the clubhouse and walked around showing them the tennis courts, laundry, Rec Hall, pools, shuffle board courts, pool room, library, card rooms, and the permanent resident development, before driving over to our area. We sat on the pation where Ralph & I shared a cold brew. The gals wanted to go inside so we did that, before deciding to go out to Cortinos for some Italian food.
We enjoyed a nice visit with our friends and spent quite a while lingering over our meal. Once we left the restaurant we drove Ralph & Rosalie back to their motel and said goodnight. We'll let them get some rest and start fresh today.
Marilyn & I returned to the RV to watch "The Amazing Race" and then part I of a three part miniseries called "Comanche Moon".
We had another wonderful night of sleep on our new mattress, the rain didn't appear as forecast, and we are ready for another day. We have several things planned for today, depending on the weather.
You know me, I just can't wait to see what this day has in store.....
