Jan 4, 2008 Journal entry
This is the second time I have started from scratch on this entry. I was awake by 6:30 AM this morning and sat at the computer writing the normal morning entry. I completed the entry, saved it and posted it. I then logged out and went back into the "my trip journal" site to read our entry as the reader would see it. I discovered a typo, went back in to the journal and corrected it, saved it and posted it again. I checked to make sure it was ok and then left.
Jennifer, our daughter, called this evening and asked "Dad, where is your journal entry for today?" So, when I looked for it, I discovered that it had disappeared. I then checked our e-mail and found that we had a note from our friends, Steve & Cathy in Hannibal, MO, asking where our journal entry was. Bummer!
So, ok my friends, I'm glad you brought this to my attention. Here is an entry for today.
Yesterday morning, Marilyn and I awoke to cool temperatures and so we had our coffee indoors. We had softball practice at 10:00 AM, due to the colder temps. By the time we had been practicing for half an hour, the temperature was near the middle 60's, and the jackets came off.
That was our last practice before the games begin next Tuesday. We should have a pretty good team this year, although I am not one of the better players. Next Thursday evening the team is going to Mexico with the wives, for dinner at the "Red Snapper."
Once practice was over, the guys dropped me off at the RV, where I ate a bite of lunch and then took a shower, put on my PJ's and laid down to read for awhile. That turned into about an hour long nap.
Last night we watched the Kansas/Virginia Tech football game in the Orange Bowl. Kansas did a great job and finished the season with only one loss. It is hard to see why they didn't get a chance to play for the National title, having lost only one game all season, and that loss was to a top ten ranked team, our Missouri Tigers. I am no Kansas fan but they got a raw deal as far as I am concerned.
Well, folks, I can't remember what else I might have written about this morning. I am writing this in word so that I can save it and post it again if it gets lost.
The weather today is supposed to be back into the mid to upper 70's and I just can't wait to see what this day has in store.....
