Who says the EPA is a bad thing. Manzanillo needs one.

With the angels...

Spent the last few days in a bay just outside Manzanillo. We were at Punta Carrizal. Lovely place which afforded us some time to swim, snorkel, kayak, fish and clean the bottom of our boat and check our zincs. Luckily Mike is quite good at bottom time while snorkeling. We spent about 4 days in this anchorage with 5 other boats. Snorkeling was awesome. Saw a manta ray 10x10 feet. The six of us gathered one evening at sunset for snacks and cocktails. On new years eve all 6 women went kayaking. I tried to shoot thru a tube of rushing water and changed my mind at the last minute and flipped my kayak. I didn't get hurt but now know that I can get back on from in the water! I felt lucky that the only thing I lost was our portable VHF which is from our emergency ditch bag. We will look for another in Manzanillo. All 6 men went fishing on Blue Plains Drifter with not much luck. That evening, new years eve we all had a potluck on another boat and celebrated the new year with some champagne and the firing of expired flares for our firework entertainment. We now have new friends on s/v Miela, Tenacity, Vinmar, Blue Plains Drifter and Slacker. The folks on Blue Plains Drifter are about to head north to Puerto Vallarta to make the puddle jump to the Marquesas with a few other boats in early March.

Arrived yesterday in the bay of Manzanillo. We are anchored just outside the beautiful resort of Las Hadas. This resorts claim to fame was from the movie 10 in which Bo Derek ran down the beach at the resort. That is where I am using the internet now. We had lunch there after landing at the small marina and swam at the pools in the afternoon. We expect to see town today 1/3, provision and depart for points south by Saturday. It is a very busy tourist season here thus our anchorage gets busy with power boaters, jet skiers and water skiers. So we plan to miss some of that excitement this weekend. Love to all!
