When we left Foley, AL on Thursday, we started on the scenic route: Route 98 along Mobile Bay ... beautiful homes on the water and a neat, little downtown in Fairhope. The rest of the drive, on I-10 was pretty uninteresting. When we arrived in Biloxi, MS, we drove miles and miles of Beach Blvd along the coast. The devastation from Hurricane Katrina in 2005 is incredible. Most of the rubble has been removed; where there were buildings or homes, there are mostly just slabs and foundations. Other places are boarded-up awaiting Biloxi's recovery phase. There are a few new/rebuilt casinos, but most of the rest of Biloxi is still a mess.

On Friday, we got in 12 holes of golf before dark. It was a good-looking day, but the wind was so cold that we wore earmuffs on the course. We were disappointed in the quality of the course (considering the price), but as usual, it beats working. We were one of three consecutive groups of Buckeye fans; the Biloxi plan for the BCS championship game appears to be a common one.
